Griswold family thankful for supporters

Bobby GriswoldGEARY, Okla. - As Bobby Griswold and his family prepare for a legal battle, they recognize the overwhelming support that has helped them over the past week.

On March 4, Griswold was the first person arrested in Oklahoma under a new and absurd change to a law. The veteran certified and trained horse teeth floater was taken into custody for allegedly practicing veterinary medicine without a license, even though veterinarians receive no training in teeth floating at their schools.

Griswold, who has made a national name for himself as one of the elite saddle bronc riders in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, is out of jail on bond and is preparing to vigorously defend himself.

The married father of three girls is focusing his attention on the legal situation before him.

"My family and I have received unbelievable support through this situation, and it all means so much," said Griswold, 40, who finished the 2008 rodeo season at the National Finals Rodeo in December. "We can't thank all of you enough for the support everyone has given us. We are truly blessed."

An account will be established to help the Griswolds cover the cost of fees that will be associated with this legal battle. Anyone wishing to donate may mail their contributions to:

Professional Saddle Bronc Rider

When people in rodeo talk about Bobby Griswold, they talk about class, whether it's about his elite status among the best saddle bronc riders in ProRodeo or his standing as a mentor or the way he handles his business in and out of the rodeo arena.

In 2008, he has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo, finishing the regular season among the top 15 in the Classic Event of ProRodeo. His four qualifications to ProRodeo's grandest stage reflect his tremendous athletic ability, but there's so much more to what makes Bobby Griswold. When he went through a stretch of injuries earlier this decade, he didn't get down. He used his time away from the rodeo arena to earn his equine dental certificate, which gives him another tremendous marketable skill. In fact, Bobby has used his dentistry skills to supplement his income as he travels the rodeo trail.

Bobby is also a family man, with his beautiful wife, Lynn, and their daughters in fold.
